the MUSE of SILENTIUM, Sakit Mammadov

is one of the most famous artists whose works are in major art galleries and private collections around the world. His latest exhibition in London, which took place in the spring, caused a furor among art critics. The artist himself was presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Sakit Mammadov has won the hearts of thousands with his mastery of painting. He can even be called a master of colored paints, bringing light to darkness, calmness to anxiety, and inspiration to reluctance.

Sun, passion, and bright colors are the critical tools of Sakit. The renowned artist has been able to grab headlines with his works. His paintings are full of energy. They create a good mood in their viewers. They are filled with generosity and lively spirit. Mammadov's painting helps the viewer to feel the world depicted by the artist's imagination. His paintings create a unique atmosphere. At first glance, they might seem simple, but to look attentively, they seem more complicated and delicate. The works are modern, traditional, powerful, light, complex, and straightforward.

Mammadov's works have been featured in many prestigious galleries of the world in more than 60 countries. A portrait of Pope John Paul II can be called one of the artist's most famous paintings, as it brought Mammadov many proposals from Italy, Turkey, and Georgia. Mammadov rejected all these offers because no one would know that the Azerbaijani artist painted the picture. And he was right. Now, this picture is hanging in the Vatican Museum. It has been donated to Pope on behalf of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

As a member of UNESCO Union of Artists, Mammadov pays special attention to Azerbaijan's Culture.

I am Ayan Aziz

Ever since I was little, I remember spending a lot of time in my father’s workshop, watching him passionately work on his paintings and dreaming that one day I will find my own passion.  These are my earliest childhood memories, which in fact inspired and shaped me into the creative individual I am today.

Being surrounded by vibrant and talented artists from a young age had a great influence on my artistic formation. However, as I grew and became older my artistic style changed, I acquired a host of expressions, emotions, and moods that capture feminine warmth, sensitivity, and emotional complexity.

My art is a reflection of my inner world, a mirror to my soul. I use the colours of my works to assign rhythm and deep meaning in an abstract ornament, as well as saturated patterns that can be found hidden in still life or landscape.

The language of art is an unparalleled force of my expression, the freedom of visual expression where even the most paradoxical ideas can touch and be united is the underlying concept that I live by…

Cesar Mammadov is one of the most prominent young Azerbaijani brush masters.

He graduated from the Academy of Arts of Azerbaijan (2008-2012)  and, in recent years, actively participated in art projects in Azerbaijan and abroad, where his works were exhibited at the most famous exhibition venues.

“I love this life with a frenzy of love...” – this line from Vladimir Nabokov’s poem is probably the best description of the creative belief of the artist.

In Cesar Mammadov’s paintings, the joy of existence is combined with a friendly interest in the minor details of life, and the romantic glorification of the beauty of nature goes hand-in-hand with a display of creations of human hands in the foreground; figuratively and sometimes in the literal sense of the word.

A work of art which isn’t based on feeling isn’t art at all.
